Is it possible to own too many stripes? I hope not because it seems stripes are what I reach for when I don’t want to put too much thought into my outfit. I think stripes automatically take a casual outfit and make it a bit more chic. This super soft tee is perfection and I’m a little sad Gap doesn’t make it anymore. The similar version I linked below looks like it’s just as soft though.

Even though it is still summer and will be for a little while, I love wearing booties. Although my first instinct when wearing shorts or a skirt is to grab a pair of sandals, I love the unexpectedness of pairing cooler weather pieces with a warm weather outfit. I got these booties from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (which is still going on by the way) and I am obsessed with the color (putty) and the fringe. I bought these to wear with jeans and slouchy tees and sweaters in the fall but I love the booties and shorts combo too much…I couldn’t wait. Summertime….living is easy and anything goes.

Today we are starting a new series called Style Watch. We will occasionally choose a trend for the current or upcoming season and do a post highlighting some of our favorite pieces within that trend. Today we chose the color Marsala, which is Pantone’s color of the year for 2015. Although this color has already been seen a lot since the beginning of the year, I am really excited to incorporate it into my fall wardrobe. This red-brown color with its warm and earthy tones is exactly the type of color I’m usually drawn towards in the fall. The skirt and crop top are both great transition pieces that you can wear now and into the fall. And those sunglasses are everything! I have been dying to get a new pair of sunglasses because, although I am in love with my Ray-Ban Aviators, I feel like I need to switch it up a bit and these will be a perfect way for me to incorporate this lovely wine color into my everyday wardrobe. And guys….they are only $9!!! You can’t beat that.
