I love maxi dresses and skirts. They are effortless, chic and they are summer staples. For a while now I have been wanting a white maxi skirt, but my budget doesn’t really allow me to purchase whatever I want whenever I want it. So, I decided it wasn’t something I absolutely needed and thought I would just have to do without. As it turns out, I actually can have a white maxi skirt….because I have a white maxi dress. Why didn’t I think of this before?! All I had to do is put a shirt on over my dress and voila! A white maxi skirt to call my very own. I just love when I can take a piece from my wardrobe and make it something different, don’t you?

Okay, so I know it’s technically not sweater season, but I figured if it’s in the form of a dress it’s okay, right? I tend to wear dresses pretty frequently, but a stretchy sweater dress is one of my favorites. This dress is easy and relaxed, but it’s also versatile…I can wear it with heels for a night out or with chic flats for daytime plans with friends, but on this day spent wandering the town with my family, I opted for sneakers to stay comfortable despite all the walking we were doing.
I know I have talked about my love for distressed denim before. These Blank NYC cutoffs have been, by far, the most worn item I own over the summer. Sadly though, I never did find that pair of white distressed jeans that I wanted…enter this pair from Loft. A few weeks ago I decided why not just cut up one of the pairs I already own (see previous DIY ripped jeans here), and so I did….and now my search is over. For this look I decided to keep the color scheme monochromatic with this loose white top. You can never go wrong with white on white, right?
Let me just say, you guys better get used to these jeans…they are going to be seen many more times into the fall paired with chunky knit sweaters and jackets galore!
