I love the coziness of a blanket scarf, but most of the time I feel like they are too oversized on my petite frame; however, this plaid scarf from Val’s Boutique is the perfect size and weight for me. With the cold weather I know we will be having, it’s nice to have this option to keep me snug without making me feel suffocated. For a day spent at the lake with my family, I paired this scarf with a drapey top, distressed denim and riding boots…very fall!

Can I please tell you how much I love this vest?! It’s actually from 2 seasons ago but I still wear it proudly! This vest is great b/c it’s not too warm (which is nice for Knoxville right now since we’ve had oddly warm weather) but not too light either. It’s perfect for those mid-temps that pop up randomly in the winter! And it isn’t super thick which is nice for layering!! So since it isn’t from this season I attached a similar one that I found, & really like, for you. I’m on a vest kick and you’ll actually see me in a vest again on Friday…oops!
I paired this vest with a simple purple blouse because I wanted a little color with the grey and tan. I’m a huge fan of neutrals so this purple blouse was a great choice for me (a little bit of color but still in the neutralish, is that a word?, zone).
It would be so nice if every single time I left the house I felt put together and on point style wise, but….that just does not happen. Especially in the winter when it’s cold and I start shivering as soon as I walk out the door! But just because it’s cold and I want to dress cozy does not mean I have to sacrifice style completely. You may have noticed I am into all black outfits this time of year. Usually I like to add a pop of color, but this time I kept things neutral with a tan scarf and brown tote. This look was simple, cozy and I still managed to feel (somewhat) put together, so I call that a win!
