For today’s shopping post I decided to focus on the athleisure trend, which blurs the lines between gym wear and your everyday wardrobe. I think one reason people are so drawn to this trend is the comfort factor. What busy woman doesn’t want to be comfortable when getting sh** done? And the best part is, these days more and more designers are coming out with athleisure pieces that are both comfortable and stylish.
I normally do not share the personal details of my life on the blog or on any form of social media, but I’m about to for a bit. The reason I chose to focus on the athleisure trend for this post, is because I am going to be staying at home pretty much all the time for the next couple of months. You see, my five year old little girl is having a major hip surgery tomorrow morning…her third hip surgery in her little five years of life. She will be in a full body cast for at least six weeks and then will have some recovery time where she will learn how to walk and just move in general again. She is in really great spirits about it all and we will do lots of fun activities, but our ventures out of the house will not be frequent or far distances. She is pretty much a rock star and is handling all of this like a boss.
So although my social life will be lacking for the next couple of months (being home with my daughter is the only place I will want to be), I still want to look somewhat put together for when we have visitors and for the times we go on little outings. That is where athleisure comes in. I chose eight pieces above that I love and that would be comfortable enough to lounge around the house and cute enough to wear out in public. This Topshop sweatshirt looks so cozy and is such a pretty shade of pink. Also, I have been wanting a pair of joggers for a while and this pair from Topshop might be the perfect ones. My favorite though is, of course, the striped dress from Zara. Are you surprised? I love how slouchy and flowy it is. I can’t decide if I want to sleep in it or dress it up with heels and a red lip….
I will be taking a break from the blog for the next week so I can focus all of my attention on my daughter. Brittany will probably be doing a post or two in the meantime and I will be back in a week!
