This weekend my husband and I were given the opportunity to attend the Richmond Heart Ball. We were both thrilled since we rarely get a night out just the two of us…much less get to attend a black tie event! As I was thinking about what I should wear, I realized I didn’t really have a dress I would want to wear for a black tie event, so I decided to try Rent the Runway. For those of you who don’t know about Rent the Runway, it is an online service that provides designer dress and accessory rentals. I wasn’t really willing to spend hundreds of dollars on a formal dress that I would probably never wear again so this was the perfect option for me. I originally rented this dress, but got an email early in the week saying the dress had been damaged or not returned on time, so I had to choose another one. I admit I was a bit disappointed at first but the dress I ended up wearing was super comfortable which was perfect for a long night of dancing. I also rented these teardrop earrings from Rent the Runway and I thought they worked well. Even though I did not get the dress I originally ordered, I was pretty happy with my experience with Rent the Runway and I will probably use this service again.
On a side note…did anyone else try to snag some Lilly Pulitzer for Target items and fail? I had the launch of Lilly Pulitzer for Target written in my planner for weeks and was so excited to do some shopping Sunday morning. I got to Target at 10am (it opens at 8) and there was nothing left! I was then shocked to find out every store in the area had sold out of Lilly Pulitzer, as well as online. I was so bummed; however, there was one item left in the whole store. It was this adorable little jumper and it happened to be in my daughters size so I snatched it right up! I guess it wasn’t a complete fail.
