Two trends that are still going strong into fall are crop tops and wide-leg pants. Tops have been getting smaller in order to balance out the wider proportion of the pants that are everywhere right now. I’ll admit that I was not immediately excited about this trend, but after seeing all of the chic options out there I’m definitely on board. Above, I chose some of my favorite crop tops and wide-leg pants and put them together in combinations I would like to wear. I added two combinations that pair black with blush tones because I have always loved the contrast of the two colors together. I have been on the fence about culottes because sometimes I think they look sophisticated and stylish and other times I think they are unflattering, but this pink pair from Zara makes me want to own them…like now. The beige Alice + Olivia crop top may look a little plain from the front but in the back it has a twisted detail and a large cutout…it is perfection. I also love that there are many long sleeved options for crop tops out there that will be perfect for those cooler months. The key to pulling off a crop top without looking like an aerobics instructor or a teenybopper is to aim for one that hits just above the waist and go for high waisted pants so that only a glimpse of skin is exposed. I, for one, can’t wait to finally try this trend out!
