Typically when I think of denim, I don’t automatically think variety. The truth is, though, the options are endless when it comes to denim…and that is especially true for this spring and summer. I have to admit that while some of these trends I love, others I’m not sold on yet. Let’s take a look at them, shall we?
Flare Jeans: The flared jean is certainly not a new trend, but it is one that is still going strong this year….and especially now during festival season.
Flared Overalls: While there is no doubt that flared denim is one of the hottest trends right now, celebrities and style icons have been taking it to the next level with flared overalls. This is one trend I’m definitely willing to try…overalls are insanely comfortable and can be so chic if you style them correctly.
Frayed Hems: The unfinished, raw detail of a frayed hem gives an edge to your typical casual weekend look. Wearing these jeans is such an easy and subtle way to incorporate new trends.
90’s Inspired: My college self would cringe at these high-waisted, tapered jeans, but 90’s inspired denim is huge this season.
Embroidered Denim: Seen on everything from denim jackets to cut-off shorts, colorful stitched details are a huge part of the denim world right now. While this trend may have been seen all over the runways and on celebrities, this is not one I’m too eager to try…at least not yet.
Cropped Flares: Cropped jeans as well as flared jeans have been in style for a while now, so it should be no surprise that all of the best denim brands are releasing styles that are both cropped and flared.
Denim Skirts: Denim skirts made a comeback last year and are here to stay for 2016. There are many styles out there to choose from, but the denim miniskirt is where it’s at for this spring and summer.
I’m curious…which denim trends are you wanting to try out this year?
